Faculty of Medicine Mataram University, was established in June 18, 2003. Initially it was a study program which then further become a faculty on the 25th of August 2007. It is the only state Faculty of Medicine in the province of West Nusa Tenggara. In the early years of its establishment, the Faculty of Medicine Udayana University took an important role to foster the medical education in our faculty. Ongoing collaboration with Udayana University still continues, and further collaboration with other national and international institution has been established as part of the faculty’s strategy to increase capacity building in various areas of medicine.
To be a leading education institute and center of health care in the east region of Indonesia, leveraging the innovations, research and technology thus tackle the fundamental health challenges in its region by 2025.

The academic program in the Faculty of Medicine Mataram University is designed to produce physicians who are knowledgeable of the principles of medical science and are expected to be self-directed, committed and resourceful life-long learners who adhere to ethical standards of behavior. These aspects are essential in order to engage in the practice of medicine as competent professionals and serve as the front line of primary and referral health care for the diverse populations in West Nusa Tenggara.
